Basketball Recap: Barrie Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Barrie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Barrie lost, don't look at Hezekiah Saunders. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points along with six boards and three steals. Gunnar Nelson was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 15 rebounds.

Coming up, Barrie will take on Yeshivat Rambam at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next contest (against Legacy School of Sport Sciences Maroon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
