Football Game Preview: White County Warriors vs. Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers

The White County Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. White County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, White County earned a 26-14 win over Macon County.

Cole Sims continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 166 yards and three scores. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 133 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: White County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Warren County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 24-17 to Stone Memorial.

Even if they lost, Warren County's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Canaan Curtis refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Raul Manus was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making 17 total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Warren County's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for White County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for White County against Warren County in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, as the team secured a 41-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
