Softball Recap: Campbell-Savona Takes a Loss

Campbell-Savona extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-5 in the process. They came up short against the Cuba-Rushford Rebels, falling 7-0. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Campbell-Savona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Willow Koperczak, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Cuba-Rushford, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Cuba-Rushford's side, Arlah Shaffer and Aubrey Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Shaffer went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Williams went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Allie Kocsis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbell-Savona will face off against Canisteo at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cuba-Rushford, they will square off against Andover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
