Basketball Recap: Chadrick Price's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crawford County over Schley County

Crawford County was the 56-44 winner over Schley County when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Crawford County Eagles fell just short of the Schley County Wildcats by a score of 49-47 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since December 27, 2024.

Crawford County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chadrick Price, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points. Price is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamahl Willis, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Crawford County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Schley County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.

Crawford County will face off against Taylor County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Taylor County has three straight wins, Crawford County has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for Schley County, they will take on Furlow Charter School at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
