Football Game Preview: Goldsboro Cougars vs. Princeton Bulldogs + How To Watch

Goldsboro is 0-5 against Princeton since October of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Goldsboro has given up an average of 45.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Goldsboro duked it out with James Kenan on Friday. The Cougars were dealt a 48-6 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-0 win over Spring Creek. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won seven in a row.

Goldsboro better keep an eye on Teo McPhatter. He was instrumental in Princeton's win, rushing for 163 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, while also throwing for three yards and one touchdown. McPhatter's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Princeton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 290 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Creek only rushed for -14.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Princeton, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of McPhatter, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Goldsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Princeton, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.

Goldsboro came up short against Princeton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 38-30. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McPhatter, who rushed for 180 yards and three scores.
