Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Anthony Wayne Generals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-6, 25-14.

Savana Coates and Danica Welch certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Coates had six digs and three aces, while Welch had five digs. That's the most aces Coates has posted in her last seven contests.

Anthony Wayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubrey Rieger out in front who had four digs and 36 assists. Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Anthony Wayne, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Springfield will venture away from home to challenge Napoleon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anthony Wayne, they will head out to take on Perrysburg at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Anthony Wayne is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
