            Football Recap: Boerne Greyhounds vs. McCollum Cowboys        
        
		
        
        
            Boerne entered their tilt with McCollum on Thursday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They breezed past the Cowboys to the tune of  42-0. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Greyhounds this season.
 Grant Sweeney produced another solid  effort throwing for 169 yards and two  touchdowns, while also rushing for 36 yards and one  TD.  Ben Bays made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Boerne was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 293  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
 Boerne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Bays and  Kole Traylor. Bays got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
Boerne's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for McCollum, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the  loss, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Boerne will  face off against  rival Tivy  at 7:00  p.m.  on November 7. Meanwhile, McCollum is set to  take on  their familiar foe Harlandale  at 7:00  p.m.  on November 7.
