Softball Preview: Valley Park Hawks vs. Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights        
        
		
             The Valley Park Hawks will venture away from home to  face off against the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Valley Park will be strutting in after a  victory while Incarnate Word Academy will be coming in after a  defeat.
 Valley Park will head into Thursday's  match on the come-up: they were handed a seven-run  loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Pacific on Thursday. Valley Park skirted past Pacific  8-6.
  Adison Durbin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Izabel Chittakhone was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Valley Park  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  struck out at most four  strikeouts in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Incarnate Word Academy's offense. They lost  15-0 to Westminster Christian on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 17  runs in the game before, the Red Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 Valley Park's record is now 6-9-1. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
