Basketball Recap: Refugio Comes Up Short

Refugio's tournament run continued when they took on San Diego on Friday. The Refugio Bobcats fell to the San Diego Vaqueros 62-56.

When it comes to explaining why Refugio lost, don't look at Bradi Fox-Smith. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Fox-Smith has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Jazaelynne Lewis was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Refugio's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for San Diego, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Refugio didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-43 victory against Aransas Pass on the 27th. As for San Diego, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-17 win against Odem on the 28th.
