Football Recap: Copper Canyon Falls to North Canyon in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Copper Canyon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the North Canyon Rattlers on Tuesday, falling 39-0.

North Canyon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laila Urquieta, who threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 61 yards and one TD. The Rattlers' leading receiver Alexis Kraft was Urquieta's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Coming up, Copper Canyon will challenge Sierra Linda at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Canyon, they will take on Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
