Softball Recap: Avella Finds Home Field Redemption Against Bethlehem Center

There's no place like home for Avella, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs by a score of 15-12 on Thursday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

McKenna Northcraft was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ginny Smith was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Avella kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Avella's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Bethlehem Center, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Avella and Bethlehem Center will both be playing Burgettstown the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
