Softball Recap: Fortuna's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fortuna put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Point Arena Pirates a 13-0 shutout.

The team relied heavily on Isabel Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailee Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Fortuna always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Point Arena only posted an OBP of .250.

Fortuna's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Point Arena, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3.

Fortuna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-5 win against Berean Christian on the 15th. As for Point Arena, they have also already played their next game, a 15-6 victory against Credo on the 15th.
