Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs vs. Willow Spring Storm

The Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs will challenge the Willow Spring Storm at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Southeast Raleigh was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 70-69 to Garner. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Trojans are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Willow Spring was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 49-44 to Clayton. The Storm have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Southeast Raleigh will need to focus on slowing down Brady Williams, one of several Willow Spring players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 17 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Overman, who scored nine points in addition to eight boards and four blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Southeast Raleigh and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Willow Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
