Basketball Recap: Holly Springs Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Holly Springs extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 77-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Willow Spring Storm. The Golden Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Holly Springs lost, don't look at Chase Olgine. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine boards. Olgine is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Webster, who shot 63% from the field en route to 10 points.

As for Willow Spring, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 78.0 points this season.

Willow Spring's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavion Terrell led the charge by going 8-for-12 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Corey Kinard Ii, who posted eight points in addition to 11 assists and six rebounds.

Coming up, Holly Springs will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Overhills at 7:00 p.m. As for Willow Spring, they have already played their next matchup, a 55-51 win against Orange on the 28th.
