Basketball Recap: Hamilton Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Francis Parker, Hamilton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lincoln Hornets by a score of 67-54. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Huskies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in Arizona, while the Hornets are ranked 441st in California).

Destinee Benway had an outrageously good game as she shot 60% from beyond the arc en route to 27 points. Those 27 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Anderson, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 12 points and six assists.

Hamilton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lincoln, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Hamilton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-47 victory against Virgin Valley on the 5th. As for Lincoln, they have also already played their next matchup, a 43-40 defeat against Bishop's on the 5th.
