Basketball Recap: Willow Spring Storm vs. Felton Grove Galaxy
Willow Spring had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Felton Grove Galaxy 79-36. With the Storm ahead 52-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Willow Spring was led to victory by Ryder Randolph and Dillon Robinson. Randolph shot 80% from the field on his way to 19 points and six boards, while Robinson went 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points and three steals. That's the most steals Robinson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Finley Stephenson, who shot 88% from the field en route to 15 points.
Willow Spring was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Felton Grove only posted eight.
Felton Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyle Bullard, who had 11 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Medford, who earned 11 points and five boards.
Felton Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coming up, Willow Spring will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Fuquay - Varina at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Felton Grove, they will venture away from home to face off against South Garner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
