Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders vs. Monsignor Farrell Lions

The Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders are taking a road trip to face off against the Monsignor Farrell Lions on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Archbishop Stepinac fell victim to St. Joseph-by-the-Sea and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 1-0. The Crusaders' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Monsignor Farrell came up short against St. Peter's on Thursday and fell 6-1. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Archbishop Stepinac's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Monsignor Farrell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Archbishop Stepinac couldn't quite get it done against Monsignor Farrell in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 12-7. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
