Basketball Game Preview: Robert C. Byrd Eagles vs. Musselman Applemen

The Robert C. Byrd Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Musselman Applemen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Robert C. Byrd is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Lewis County. The Eagles claimed a resounding 77-49 victory over the Minutemen. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Minutemen since April 21, 2021.

Meanwhile, Musselman strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Moorefield, posting a 56-27 victory. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for the Applemen this season.

Robert C. Byrd couldn't quite finish off Musselman in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 and fell 76-73. Thankfully for the Eagles, Jake Stephens (who almost dropped a triple-double with 25 points, 14 boards, and nine blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
