Volleyball Recap: Superior Comes Up Short

Superior extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marshfield Tigers. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Marshfield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 28, 2024.

Leading Marshfield to victory were Natalie Delany and Angela Barnhardt. Delany had four digs and two aces, while Barnhardt had 13 digs and one assist.

Coming up, Superior will face off against Rice Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Marshfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Eau Claire North on the 26th.
