Volleyball Recap: Heath Takes a Loss

Heath was the 2-0 winner over River View when they last played one another back in August of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black Bears on Saturday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Black Bears 25-15 in the first set.

Heath started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-23.

Kylie Green paced Heath's offense, picking up ten kills. Green got some help from Ansley Harbage and her 16 assists. Finally, Ella Jewell kept Heath's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Heath's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for River View, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-3.

Looking ahead, Heath will face off against Utica at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River View, they will take on Sheridan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
