Baseball Recap: Obion County Triumphs

While Obion County's victory against Haywood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Obion County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Haywood on Friday. While the Rebels didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Obion County's record now sits at 6-3. As for Haywood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Obion County will head out to challenge Calloway County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Haywood, they will venture away from home to square off against Bolivar Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Haywood is facing Bolivar Central at the right time seeing as Bolivar Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
