Preview: Burbank Titans vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals
Burbank has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Burbank beat Kennedy 53-42. The victory was just what Burbank needed coming off of a 86-64 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Laguna Creek came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Grant with a 59-55 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Burbank is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Laguna Creek, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
Burbank didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Laguna Creek in their previous matchup on January 5th, but they still walked away with a 64-58 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burbank since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
