Baseball Game Preview: LeRoy Panthers vs. Roanoke-Benson Rockets

The LeRoy Panthers are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the Roanoke-Benson Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roanoke-Benson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on LeRoy, who comes in off a win.

LeRoy is headed out to face Roanoke-Benson after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. LeRoy skirted past Armstrong 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Brock Owens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Jack Bogema was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Roanoke-Benson kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Fieldcrest by a score of 6-5. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

LeRoy came out on top in a nail-biter against Roanoke-Benson in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for LeRoy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
