Baseball Recap: Galax Maroon Tide vs. George Wythe Maroons
Galax extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They came up short against the George Wythe Maroons, falling 10-4. The Maroon Tide were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Maroons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

For George Wythe's part, Carson Stanley was a major factor no matter where he played. Stanley has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Coming up, Galax will host Carroll County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for George Wythe, they will head out to take on Giles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
