Sage Ridge has gone 9-1 against Excel Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sage Ridge Scorpions are taking a road trip to square off against the Excel Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sage Ridge had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Churchill County put an end to it on Tuesday. Sage Ridge was outmatched by Churchill County and fell 67-20. The game marked the Scorpions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Michael Skaria, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Excel Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Smith Valley, falling 74-41. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 28th).

Excel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Sage Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Sage Ridge strolled past Excel Christian in their previous matchup on January 4th by a score of 49-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sage Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
