Soccer Game Preview: Weaver vs. Cleburne County

The Weaver Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Cleburne County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Weaver duked it out with Childersburg on Tuesday. The Bearcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. Weaver have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Cleburne County after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Talladega by a score of 2-1. Cleburne County hasn't had much luck with Talladega recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cleburne County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-1. As for Weaver, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Weaver came out on top in a nail-biter against Cleburne County in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
