Basketball Recap: Luke Fagan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Community Christian over Union

Community Christian was the 65-48 winner over Union when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 63-52 to the Rockets on Tuesday.

Community Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Fagan, who went 5-for-11 en route to 11 points along with eight boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Fagan is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Abel Parsley, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Lamar Schwartz was a one-man wrecking crew For Union. as he went 10-for-16 to rack up 30 points. Those 30 points gave Schwartz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lavon Schwartz, who shot 45% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Union, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Community Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mission Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Union, they will challenge MTI School of Knowledge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
