Volleyball Recap: Giada Wagner Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Gallup + How To Watch

Miyamura hadn't done well against Gallup recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bengals. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Miyamura had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 28-26, 25-16, 25-6.

Miyamura's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giada Wagner, who had four digs and two aces. What's more, Wagner racked up 24 assists, the most she's had since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakota Marianito, who had 13 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Miyamura was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 7-3 when they serve at least ten aces.

Miyamura's record now sits at 7-8. As for Gallup, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
