William Byrd's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Staunton River Golden Eagles 7-6. With that victory, the Terriers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Tyler Harris was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Courtemanche, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

William Byrd has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Staunton River, their record now sits at 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Byrd will venture away from home to challenge Hidden Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Titans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Staunton River, they are taking a road trip to square off against Christiansburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
