Basketball Game Preview: Star Christian Academy Golden Tigers vs. Neuse Charter Cougars

Star Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Neuse Charter recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Neuse Charter challenged North Johnston on Friday. Neuse Charter lost to North Johnston on the road by a 75-56 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Defeat or not, Neuse Charter got some senior leadership from Demonte Jackson and Donolyjah Tyrell. Jackson posted 14 points and five rebounds, while Tyrell had ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Klayton Tew, who earned six points and four steals.

Star Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Neuse Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Star Christian Academy took a serious blow against Neuse Charter in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 70-16. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Star Christian Academy was down 49-8.
