Volleyball Recap: Axtell Takes a Loss

Axtell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riesel Indians. If the Longhorns were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Indians when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Riesel scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Axtell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Riesel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Axtell will take on Valley Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riesel, they will be taking part in a tournament against Venus at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
