Preview: Plant Panthers vs. East Lake Eagles
The Plant Panthers will square off against the East Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Plant sitting on three straight victories and East Lake on six.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Plant walked away with it. They blew past the Ravens 55-35. Plant has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, even though Sickles scored an imposing 64 points on Thursday, East Lake still came out on top. East Lake walked away with a 73-64 win over Sickles.
East Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Becker led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Brody Church was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Plant is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for East Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.
Plant beat East Lake 48-35 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Plant repeat their success, or does East Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
