Volleyball Recap: Aliah Martin Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Emery

Union's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Emery Spartans as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Union took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-8, 25-9.

Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliah Martin led the charge by getting 12 digs and six assists. That's the most assists Martin has posted since back in August.

Union was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They are 7-3 when they serve at least ten aces.

Union's record now sits at 8-9. As for Emery, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
