Softball Game Preview: Whitehall-Yearling Rams vs. Buckeye Valley Barons

Whitehall-Yearling is 0-7 against Buckeye Valley since April of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Rams will welcome the Barons at 5:15 p.m. Whitehall-Yearling has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Whitehall-Yearling is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 26-15 to Worthington Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Aubrie Deschaine and Kylie Whistle did some serious damage despite the final result: Deschaine went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Whistle went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Autumn Jones was another key player, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Buckeye Valley waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Silver Knights.

Buckeye Valley's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Whitehall-Yearling, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
