Volleyball Recap: Seguin Triumphs

Seguin won the last time they faced Bastrop and things went their way on Thursday too. The Matadors walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bears.

Seguin never let Bastrop on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22.

Elli Anderson paced Seguin's offense, picking up eight kills. Anderson got some help from Gisele Morales and her 11 assists. Finally, Rebeka Wilke kept Seguin's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

The win got Seguin back to even at 12-12. As for Bastrop, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-7.

Coming up, Seguin will stay at home for another game and welcome Floresville at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Tigers/Jaguars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Matadors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bastrop, they will square off against Devine at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
