There's no place like home for Monte Vista Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Stevenson Pirates 8-1 on Friday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Chris Bautista spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jackson Haddad was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Brown, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two doubles.

Monte Vista Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stevenson only posted an OBP of .231.

Monte Vista Christian pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Stevenson, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Monte Vista Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Milpitas on the 26th. As for Stevenson, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Pacific Grove on the 30th.
