Softball Recap: Ansonia Chargers vs. Holy Cross Crusaders
Friday just wasn't the day for Ansonia's offense. They came up short against the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday, falling 14-0. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 18-6 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
This is the second loss in a row for Ansonia and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Holy Cross, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ansonia will welcome Waterbury Career Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.22 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Holy Cross, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Seymour at 3:30 p.m.
