Cross wins going away against Charleston Math & Science

In what's become a running theme this season, the Cross Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 61-38 margin over Charleston Math & Science. Given Cross' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Charleston Math & Science is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Diamonique Nelson, who scored 14 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Lauren Middleton, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Charleston Math & Science lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dalailyn Reed. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Webb, who scored eight points.

The victory was the third in a row for Cross, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Charleston Math & Science, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.

Cross will be playing at home against St. John's at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. John's is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Charleston Math & Science, they will head out on the road to face off against Baptist Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
