Basketball Game Preview: Lamar Thunder vs. Crowley County Chargers

The Lamar Thunder are taking a road trip to challenge the Crowley County Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Lamar will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Florence on Friday. Lamar claimed a resounding 48-7 win over Florence. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-4.

Brooklyn Robbins was her usual excellent self, going 11 of 15 en route to 25 points and four steals. Those 25 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Weber, who posted nine points and six steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crowley County). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Limon 54-51. That's two games straight that the Chargers have won by exactly three points.

Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Crowley County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
