Ephrata is 7-2 against South Western since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mountaineers will welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Ephrata is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Ephrata needed a bit of extra time to put away Manheim Central. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Barons, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountaineers have posted since March 24th.

Ephrata saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Simes, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Ethan Hunt, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, South Western fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Red Lion on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 16-15. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Ephrata's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for South Western, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Ephrata might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from South Western in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Mountaineers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
