Volleyball Recap: Liliana Chorba Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Highland

Hanover Central won the last time they faced Highland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

While Hanover Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-13, 25-23.

Hanover Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liliana Chorba led the charge by getting 15 digs and three assists. Chorba is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Tormey, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Despite the loss, Highland had strong showings from Julia Zamudio, who had seven digs and three aces, and Sam Zurlis, who had nine digs.

Hanover Central's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Hanover Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Wheeler on the 1st. As for Highland, they will take on Hobart at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Brickies will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each match than the last.
