Softball Recap: Freeport Falls to Lynbrook in First Game of Season

Freeport unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Lynbrook Owls on Wednesday, falling 17-3. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Owls from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Lynbrook pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lynbrook has already played their next contest, a 10-4 defeat against New Hyde Park Memorial on the 27th. Hopefully Freeport payed attention to Lynbrook's matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Lynbrook at 4:30 p.m. on April 24.
