Devine is 0-6 against Floresville since March of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Warhorses will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers/Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Devine's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
On Tuesday, Devine got the win against Pearsall by a conclusive 13-2.
Henry Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Devine's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-13-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Rudy Costilla was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two doubles.
Devine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Floresville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Pleasanton on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Tigers/Jaguars couldn't push the score so high this time.
Floresville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Moreno, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Devine's record is now 10-13-1. As for Floresville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Devine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Floresville struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Devine couldn't quite finish off Floresville in their previous matchup on April 1st and fell 4-2. Can the Warhorses avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
