Baseball Game Preview: Bucyrus Redmen vs. Upper Sandusky Rams

For the second straight game, Bucyrus will face off against Upper Sandusky. The Redmen will be playing at home against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bucyrus is looking for their season's first win.

Bucyrus fell victim to Upper Sandusky and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Rams.

For Upper Sandusky's part, Josh Heilman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave Heilman a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Brody Cox was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Justin Heilman, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Upper Sandusky hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.

Bucyrus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Upper Sandusky, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
