Jackson North Side took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bolivar Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians skirted past the Tigers 7-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak.
Journey Wilbourn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Wilbourn was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Leah Marshall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kaleigha Hartfield also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Jackson North Side's victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Bolivar Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

As for Bolivar Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Middleton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middleton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.25 runs per game on average), something Bolivar Central will no doubt try to take advantage of.
