Basketball Game Preview: Brook Hill Guard vs. Fellowship Academy Mustangs

The Brook Hill Guard and the Fellowship Academy Mustangs will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fellowship Academy is hoping to do what Harvest Christian couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Brook Hill's winning streak, which now stands at eight games. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 67-22 stomp they got against Harvest Christian.

Brook Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Indeya Williams led the charge by going 8 for 15 on her way to 17 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Remy Tonroy, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Fellowship Academy entered their tilt with Bishop Gorman on Thursday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They ended the year with a bang, routing the Crusaders 51-30. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Crusaders are ranked 803rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brook Hill is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Fellowship Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
