Soccer Game Preview: Aquinas vs. Baldwin

The Aquinas Fightin' Irish will head out to face off against the Baldwin Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Aquinas is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Harlem just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-3 to the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Aquinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Harlem are ranked 90th).

Meanwhile, Baldwin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against West Laurens, falling 4-0. One thing that didn't help Baldwin's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Janaye Walker.

Baldwin now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Aquinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Everything went Aquinas' way against Baldwin in their previous matchup back in March, as Aquinas made off with a 6-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fightin' Irish since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
