            Softball Preview: Benson Bobcats vs. San Miguel Vipers        
        
		
        
        
            The Benson Bobcats will square off against the San Miguel Vipers at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Benson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5  runs per game  this season.
Benson took a loss when they played away from home  on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Wednesday. They put the hurt on St. Augustine Catholic with a sharp  19-7 win. The  victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.
 Mandy Watson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and six unearned) runs off   three  hits. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base.

 In other batting news, Benson got a  massive  performance out of  Sadie Webb, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. Those  four  runs gave  Webb a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Kaylei Taylor, who  went 2-for-3 with five  RBI, three  runs,  and one  double.
 Benson  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .600. They are 4-1 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
 Meanwhile, San Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight  loss  dating back to last season. They came up short against  Willcox, falling  27-4.
 San Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Benson, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
 Benson took their  victory against San Miguel  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2018 by a conclusive  25-1. Will Benson repeat their success,  or does  San Miguel has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
