Baseball Game Preview: Rivera Raiders vs. Donna North Chiefs

For the second straight game, Rivera will face off against Donna North. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rivera will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Donna North's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Rivera hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. The Raiders never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Raiders have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marcos Guerrero and Raul Reyes were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Guerrero struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Reyes tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Guerrero has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Guerrero scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Reyes scored a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Jesus Sanchez was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Santiago Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Rivera pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Donna North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
