Softball Recap: Brooke Comes Up Short

Brooke extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They lost 16-10 to the Boston English Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-10 back in April.

As for Boston English, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

For Boston English's part, they got a great performance from Jayana Williams as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off two hits.

At the plate, Alba Rodriguez was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Shelsea Jimenez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Brooke does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boston English, they will face off against Brockton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
